Ben Stoke

Ben Stokes , better known as Benjamin Andrew Stokes (born 4 June 1991) , is an English international cricketer and former co-captain of the England Test team. Born in Christchurch , New Zealand , Stokes moved to the North of England at the age of 12, where he learned to play cricket and played for various local clubs. He is a right-handed fast-medium pace bowler as an all-rounder and bats as a left-handed batsman.

Early life of Ben Stokes

Stokes is the son of rugby league player and coach Gerard Stokes. He moved to England when he was only 12 years old. His father later became the head coach of a working rugby league club in the city of Workington. Stokes started his junior cricket game at Cockermouth Cricket Club ground.

Domestic 

He made his ODI debut for Durham at Stokes Oval in 2009 and took the wicket of highly experienced batsman Mark Ramprakash in his third ball in professional cricket. He played two youth Test matches against Bangladesh U-19 team in 2009. He scored a half-century and took a few wickets in that match. Then he went to play in the 2010 Under-19 World Cup. Where he scored a century against India's under-19 team.

International career of Ben Stokes

Stokes made his international cricket debut for England in one-day international against Ireland in August 2011 . He was bowled out for three by Paul Sterling and did not bowl, but took a catch.

016 T-0 World Cup 

He bowled at cost against the West Indies in the first match of the T20 World Cup on 16 March 2016 , his bowling equation was 0-42. He also took his first wicket of the tournament against Afghanistan after having zero wickets against South Africa . He bowled his best against New Zealand in the semi-final on March 30 and took 3 wickets for 26 runs. Stokes bowled in the final over against the West Indies in the final on 3 April 2016 , but West Indies lower-order all-rounder Carlos Broad weight He hit four sixes off four consecutive balls and his bowling equation stood at 0-41. The West Indies needed 19 runs in the last over, and Broadway's devastating batting helped England lose and end the match as runners-up. 

2019 Cricket World Cup 

Stokes was named in the England squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in April 2019 . In the first match of the season, he scored 69 off 69 balls against South Africa , took two wickets, ran out Dwayne Pretorius and was declared the man of the match with two catches. Out Catch "Catch the best of all time" was regarded as. In the final match against New Zealand on 14 July , he contributed 74 off 96 balls and tied the match with eight off three balls in the Super Over. In his impeccable innings, England won the World Cup for the first time and he was voted the best in the final.

Ashes 2019 

In the first innings of the third Test at Heading ley in the 2019 Ashes series, they were almost all out for just six runs before facing an almost certain defeat. Stokes hit an unbeaten 135 in the second innings with 11 fours and six sixes to help England win the 359-run target. His innings has been called "the best innings of all time" and "the best game ever played by an Englishman". 

Controversy 

Stokes got involved in a drunken brawl in Bristol during the 2016 series against the West Indies. Police later found out on CCTV that he had punched a man at least 15 times a minute, which poisoned his playing life and led to widespread criticism. However, he denied the allegations, saying "he did it to save a gay couple.
