Khan has acted in many critically and commercially successful films and is one of the leading actors in Hindi cinema. He is also the founder and owner of Aamir Khan Productions
He began his acting career as a child star in Aamir's uncle Nasir Hussain's Yadon Ki Bharat (1973), after which Khan began his career eleven years later with the film Holi (1984). His first commercial success came with his cousin Mansour Khan's Qayamat se Qayamat tak Duck (1988), for which he won the Filmfare Best Debut Actor Award. After seven previous nominations in the 1980s and 1990s, Khan won his first Filmfare Best Actor Award for his performance in the blockbuster film Raja Hindustani (1996).
In 2001, he made his filmmaking debut with the Academy Award-nominated film Lagaan. Khan played the lead role in the film and won his second Filmfare Best Actor Award for his performance. Early life of Amir Khan

Personal life of Amir Khan
Khan married Reena Dutta at the time of the release of Qayamat Che Guemat Duck . They have a son, Junaid, and a daughter, Ira. She filed for divorce in December 2002, ending Khan's 15-year marriage and leaving his children in Reina's care.
