Dilip Kumar has acted in the most number of films with actress " Vaijayanthimala ", where they have acted together in seven films including "Ganga Jamuna" from their own production. The understanding between the two of them was very good forever.
He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 1991 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 for his contributions to Indian cinema. His latest film was Kila (1998).

Early life
Dilip Kumar was born on 11 December 1922 in Khyber, Pakistan under the name of Muhammad Yusuf Khan to a Muslim aristocratic family.
His father Lala Golam Sarwar was a fruit trader who owned an orchard between Peshawar and Deolali (Maharashtra, India).
His mother's name is Ayesha Begum. Dilip Kumar started his early education at the prestigious Deolia Burns School near Nasik. Late in 1930, he moved to Mumbai with a family of 12 members.
Dilip Kumar left home in Pune in 1940 to work in a canteen run for British troops. He began his career as a canteen owner and a dried fruit supplier.
In 1943, actress Devika Rani and her husband Himanshu Rai, who owned "Bombay Talkies", tried to negotiate with Dilip Kumar in the blind military canteen in Pune and cast Dilip in the lead role in the 1944 film "Jowar Bhata" and entered the Bollywood industry by starring in the film.
Although his real name is Muhammad Yusuf Khan, Hindi writer Bhagwati Charan Burma gave him the screen name Dilip Kumar. It is believed that Dilip Kumar can speak different languages; Such as English, Hindi, Urdu, and Pashto languages.
Career
Dilip Kumar's first film "Jowar Bhata" (1944) went unnoticed which did not help him reach the pinnacle of fame, but later in 1946, "Jangu" opposite "Nur Jahan" gained wide acclaim with his first commercially successful film at the box office. His next major commercial success was "Shaheed" (1948).
He said that he co-starred with Raj Kapoor and Nargis in a love triangle that played a pivotal role in Mehboob Khan's 1949 plot. He played a successful business tragedy in the 1950s; Jogan (1950), Didar (1951), Daag (1952), Devdas (1955), Yehudi (1956), and Madhumati (1958).

Dilip Kumar has been active in trying to bring the people of India and Pakistan closer together. He was nominated as a member of the upper house of the Indian Parliament for a fixed term in the Rajya Sabha.
He was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994.
In 1996, he was awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, the highest civilian award given by the government of Pakistan. He became the second Indian to receive this award. During the Kargil war, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray said, "The country is citing the terrible aggression on Indian soil" so Dilip Kumar demanded the return of his Nishan-e-Imtiaz award. Dilip Kumar denies this, saying his translation:
This award has been given to me for humanitarian activities, which is dedicated to myself. I have worked for many years to bridge the cultural and communal gap between India and Pakistan, to help the poor. Politics and religion have created these boundaries.
I am struggling to unite the two countries no matter what I can do. Tell me, does it have anything to do with the Kargil conflict?
Personal life
Dilip Kumar performed Mecca Umrah in 2013 with his wife Saira Banu for the first time in his life. Dilip Kumar first fell in love with actress Kamini Kaushal, but they could not get married. He later fell in love with actress Madhubala, but their family opposed the marriage.
He married beauty queen actress Saira Banu in 1982, who was 22 years younger than him. He married a girl named Asma for the second time in 1980 but their marriage ended soon after.
Awards and Popularity
Dilip Kumar is widely regarded as one of the greatest actors of all time in the history of Hindi cinema. He holds the Guinness Book of World Records for winning the highest number of awards as an Indian actor.
He has received numerous awards throughout his acting career, including six Filmfare Best Actor Awards and 19 Filmfare nominations. Since 1993, the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award was honored.
On January 5, 2015 Government of India, the Padma Vibhushan Declares to give and was given to him on the occasion of his birthday on 13 December 2015.
Death
Veteran Indian actor Dilip Kumar died on the morning of July 8, 2021, in a Mumbai hospital. He was 96 years old.
