Azhar Ali is a Pakistan Cricket team players that are currently in the culinary side of the one-day international of the captain and Test cricket in the sub Captain 's. 

Azhar Ali made his Test debut in Australia's cricket team against the Lord's Cricket Ground at Lord's I did in July 2010.

Azhar plays the role of a right handed batsman and is a part time leg break bowler . Ali also has a triple century in Test cricket to his name, which he scored against the West Indies cricket team in October 2016 . 

In domestic cricket, Ali Khan has played for Research Laboratory, Lahore, Lahore Eagles, Lahore Lions, Lahore Qalandars, Pakistan A and Huntly team . During the first edition of Pakistan Super League, Ali was also the captain of Lahore Qalandars . 

Domestic cricket career 

Azhar Ali is a right-handed opener batsman and part-time leg break bowler. Azhar has always been the opening batsman for the Khan Research Laboratory cricket team in his domestic cricket career . Azhar has scored a total of 40 centuries and 53 fifties in first-class cricket with his highest score being an unbeaten 302 * . Azhar has so far scored 7,4,19 runs in 123 matches in first-class cricket . Apart from these, he has scored 5,05 runs in 119 matches in List A cricket .   Azhar Ali was selected as the captain in the first edition of the Pakistan Super League. In the first edition, Ali played 7 matches and scored 180 runs.

International cricket career 

There are only a few players from Pakistan who have started their career with Test cricket , Azhar is also the same who started his cricket career with Test cricket . Azhar played his first Test match against the Australian team at Lord's Cricket Ground in July 2010 . 


Beginnings against Australia and England 

When Ali started his career, Pakistan 's middle order Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan were a wall. Ali played Test matches against Australia and England in 2010 . Azhar scored just 17 runs in the first innings of his first Test and was caught by Tim Paine . He scored 42 runs in the second innings but Pakistan lost the match by 150 runs. 

After this, played the second Test match which was against Australia, once again disappointed in the first innings of that match and gave his wicket for just 30 runs but in the second innings he scored his first half-century. And that match was also won by Pakistan.  Azhar worked hard in the first two Tests against England as well.


November 2010 : Against Africa 

Once again Azhar Ali was selected in the team, this time the match was to be played against South Africa cricket team , this series was held in November 2010. Azhar performed well in both the innings of the first Test, scoring fifties, both of his fifties helped Pakistan to chase down the target of 451 runs. Ali then scored a scintillating 90 in the second of the second Test in which he faced a total of 135 balls, at that time the captain of the team was Misbah-ul-Haq .


January 2011 : Tour of New Zealand 

After doing well against South Africa and his experience of playing against teams like Australia and England , the selectors once selected Ali for the two Test matches against New Zealand , which took place in January 2011.  In the first Test match of the tour, Ali made only 18 runs in the first innings and did not get a chance to play in the second innings as the match was won by Pakistan and 10 wickets. However, Azhar Ali scored his sixth fifty in the second Test.


June 2012: tour of Sri Lanka 

Azhar was included in both ODIs and Tests against the Sri Lankan team in 2012 . He impressed everyone in ODIs and scored 90 * in the second match and 81 * not out in the fourth match . Similarly, he was the highest run-scorer for Pakistan in the series . 

Its Ali also performed well in Test matches and scored his fourth Test century in the first innings of the second Test of the series, in which Ali had scored a total of 157 runs.  Similarly, Ali continued to maintain his good form and scored a century in the second innings as well, scoring a total of 136 runs. Due to his good performance, Ali became one of the ' ICC's Top-10' players in Tests . 

Captaincy 

After Misbah-ul-Haq 's retirement from ODIs , there was discussion about making a new captain and Ali was appointed as the captain. Although there was discussion about making Sarfaraz Ahmed the captain before Ali, but the board chose the captain considering Ali's experience of 2 years in ODIs. 


Pakistan tour of Bangladesh 

The Pakistan cricket team toured Bangladesh cricket team in 2014-15, this time the captain was Azhar Ali . Although Pakistan had lost all three ODIs, due to this Pakistan was very disappointed. But Azhar, playing a good captaincy innings, scored 62 and 101 runs as well as scored his first ODI century. This was the first such series for Pakistan in which Bangladesh had to face defeat. 


Zimbabwe tour of Pakistan 

The Zimbabwe cricket team toured Pakistan in 2015 which went well for Pakistan and won the three-match series 2–0. Ali scored his country's first century in the very first match of the series, Ali's second ODI century. 


Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka 

Pakistan cricket team 's Sri Lanka tour and 9 years later, won by a series in Sri Lanka. Pakistan's last victory was in 2006 under the captaincy of Inzamam-ul-Haq .  Azhar scored a lot of runs in this series and also became the fastest player to score 1000 ODI runs, Ali completed 1000 runs in just 21 innings. 

At the end of the game, Ahmed Sahajad said that Azhar Ali is playing in his natural style.

Azhar is in very good form right now, so he is playing in his natural style and looks like he will play well for the team in future also. 


Pakistan tour of England 

In August 2016 , Pakistan cricket team 's England also visited the Ireland visit. Meanwhile, Azhar Ali scored a brilliant 139 against England in the Test series at Birmingham . He scored just 30 runs in the final Test and the series was tied at 2-2.

After this the ODI series started but did not go well for Pakistan and lost the series 4–1. Along with this, the England cricket team also made a world record by scoring 444 runs in an ODI match. Ali played two matches 80 and 82 runs in the ODI series and scored 208 runs in 5 innings throughout the series.


West Indies and Pakistan in 2016 

Pakistan won the T20 series 3–0 as well as the ODI series. Pakistan won the first ODI by 111 runs, making it Pakistan's 5th biggest win by runs against the West Indies cricket team .  Babar Azam scored three consecutive centuries towards Pakistan, which strengthened Pakistan. After this, captain Azhar Ali also scored his third century in the third match and with this became the first Pakistani player to score three centuries as a captain.  

Records and achievements

  • Azhar Ali became the fastest Pakistani cricketer to score 1000 runs in a 50-50 overs game 
  • Azhar became the 7th player to complete 1000 runs in the fastest ODI. 
  • Azhar Ali is the only player of the Pakistani cricket team to score 3 ODI centuries as a captain.
  • Azhar Ali made it to the top 10 captains who scored 611 runs in 10 matches as the fastest captain. 
  • Azhar Ali became the first Pakistani cricket captain to score a century while chasing a target that no one has done before. 
  • He became the first player to score a century, double or triple century in a day-night Test match.
