Jacqueline Fernandez is an Indian and Sri Lankan actress of mixed origin. The former model and winner of the "Miss Sri Lanka" (Miss Universe Sri Lanka ) in 2006, a participant in the contest Miss Universe 2006.

Jacqueline was born on August 11, 1985, in Manama, Bahrain. Her father, Elroy, is from Sri Lanka, and her mother, Kim, is from Malaysia. The maternal relatives came from India. His father moved to Bahrain in the 1980s to avoid civil unrest between Tamils and Sinhalese. Here he met her mother, who was a flight attendant.
Jacqueline was the youngest of four children, with an older sister and two brothers. At the age of fourteen, she began participating in television shows in Bahrain. After attending school, she graduated from the University of Sydney in Australia with a degree in Mass Communication and worked as a television reporter in Sri Lanka. Simultaneously she studied Spanish, French, and Arabic at the Berlitz School.
According to Fernandez herself, she aspired to become an actress from a young age and dreamed of becoming a Hollywood movie star. She received some acting training at the John School of Acting. As a reporter, she accepted offers from the modeling business.
In 2006 she became "Miss Sri Lanka" and represented her country at the world pageant Miss Universe 2006, held in Los Angeles.
In the same year, she appeared in the music video for the song "O Sathi" by the duo Bathya and Xanthus.
In 2009, Fernandez went to India, where he studied acting under the guidance of theater director Barry John ( Eng. Barry the John ). Successfully auditioned for the fantasy film "Aladin» (2009), which became her debut in acting, but because of her ignorance of Hindi, her character was voiced by Mona Ghosh Shetty. Although the film flopped at the box office, she received the IIFA Award for Best Female Debut for her role.
In 2011, the movie "The Temptation of a Married Woman 2" was released, where she played in tandem with Emran Hashmi. The film was the first commercial success of her career. At the end of 2011, she agreed to the lead role in the Sinhalese film Pragaveya, which for her should become a debut in the cinema of Sri Lanka, but she could not agree with the producers and director due to her employment in Bollywood.
In 2013, she played the mysterious girl Omisha in Race 2, a commercial success.
In the same year, she was offered to dance in an item number for the Telugu-language film "The Road to Home", but it was not possible to agree with the producers, and instead of her this number was filmed with the participation of Sophia Choudhry.
In early 2015, she appeared on the screens in the romantic thriller "Trilogy" ( "Roy"), where she performed the dual role of the journalist Aisha Aamir in love with another journalist, and Tia Desai in love with a thief. Unfortunately, the film flopped at the box office.
