Shraddha Kapoor

Shardha Kapoor is an Indian (Bollywood) actress and singer. She started her career with the film Tin Patti, for which she was nominated for Best New Actress. This was followed by Shardha's debut film Love Ka Di End (2011) in the lead role.

Biography

Shraddha Kapoor was born on March 3, 1987, to famous Indian actor Shakti Kapoor and singer Shivangi Kapoor ( nee Kolhapur ). The actress is the second child in the family, her older brother Siddhant ( Eng.  Siddhant Kapoor ), who previously worked as a DJ and assistant director, also began acting in films and in 2013 made his debut in the film " Gunfight in Vadala ". Shraddha studied at Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai, and then entered Boston University in the theater department, but after the first year, she dropped out of school to start an acting career. 

Shraddha Kapoor is the niece of famous Bollywood actress Padmini Kolhapure and lesser-known actress Tejaswini Kolhapure.  

Career

In 2011, the film "The End of Love" with Shraddha in the title role was released. Despite the poor reception of the film by the public, Shraddha received high critical praise for her performance, and also received the Stardust Awards for her role as Rhea the girl in 2012. 

Shraddha made her debut in 2010 in the film "Three Cards", starring such actors as Amitabh Bachchan, Madhavan, and Raima Sen. The film failed at the box office, but despite this, Shraddha was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. And according to the results of the authoritative edition of Items, the girl took third place in the list of "The Hottest Debutantes of the Year."

In 2013, Mohit Suri's romantic musical drama Life in Love 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor, is released. The picture was a big box office success, collecting 18 million US dollars, and for Shraddha, the role of Aroha Keshav Shirke became the first commercial success and brought recognition and several nominations in the Best Actress category, including the Filmfare Awards.

In the same year, Shraddha appeared as a guest star in the film "Beauty, you are my love!", Playing the bride of the hero Imran Khan.

In 2014, Shraddha, paired with Siddharth Malhotra, teamed up again with Mohit Suri in the film "Villain". In addition, the actress performed the song " Galliyan " for the film. The film collected a large box office (16 million US dollars).

In June 2014, Shraddha completed work on a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet, Haider, co-starring Shahid Kapoor, and Taboo. Also in the summer of 2014, Shraddha Kapoor started filming the second part of Everyone Can Dance opposite Varun Dhawan. The film was released in 2015. Shraddha's next project was the film "Rebellious Love" produced by Sajit Nadiadwala. The actress was paired with aspiring Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. In addition, Shraddha starred in Let's Rock 2, the sequel to Let's Rock!! 2008, also starring Arjun Rampal, Farhan Akhtar,  and Prachi Desai. However, the film failed at the box office. In 2016, Shraddha played herself in the film Flying Jatt, starring Tiger Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez.

In early 2017, Ok Jaanu was released, which is a remake of Mani Ratnam's Tamil film O Kadhal Kanmani, where she reappeared on-screen opposite, Aditya Roy Kapoor. Another film of that year was Half Girlfriend, in which she co-starred with Arjun Kapoor. The film is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Chetan Bhagat and became the third joint project of Shraddha and director Mohit Suri. The film was a commercial success.

In September of the same year, the film Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai was released, in which she played Hasina Parkar, the sister of the criminal Daoud Ibrahim, and where her brother Sikander also starred. 

However, the film did not live up to expectations, received negative reviews, and failed at the box office. Now Shraddha is filming in the multilingual film Saaho, where she will play the main character's lover for the first time and try herself in regional cinema, she also signed up for a biopic about Saina Nehwal.

Other activities 

In addition to her work in the film industry, Shraddha supports charitable organizations and participates in stage shows. 

In 2011, she walked the catwalk at the fashion week organized by the famous Indian cosmetics company Lakme, and also presented jewelry at India International Jewelry Week. 

At the end of 2013, Shraddha participated in a fundraising event organized by the Indian media "STAR India". The actress is a spokesperson for brands such as Lakme, Wella, Vaseline, Gitanjali, and Titan. In 2013, Bollywood Hungama named her one of the most in-demand people in the advertising industry. 

At the end of 2013, in a survey conducted by FHM India”, Shraddha ranked fifth on the list of “100 Sexiest Women in the World 2013”.

In March 2015, Shraddha launched her own clothing line "Imara".
