Virat Kohli is currently the captain of the Indian cricket team in all three formats. Kohli, a right-handed batsman, is considered one of the best batsmen in the world.
Kohli led India to his captaincy victory in the 2007 Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia and made his ODI debut for India against Sri Lanka at the age of 19, a few months later .
Initially he used to play as a reserve batsman. But he soon made himself a regular in the middle order in ODI cricket and was part of the 2011 Cricket World Cup victory. He made his Test debut in 2011 and by 2013 he was tagged "ODI Specialist" with Test hundreds in Australia and South Africa. After reaching number one in ICC ODI batsmen rankings for the first time in 2013, KohliTwenty-20 international also found success in cricket and the ICC World Twenty20 ( in 2014 and 2016 are) twice man of the tournament.
Kohli was appointed as the vice-captain of the ODI team in 2012 and after Mahendra Singh Dhoni 's retirement in Test cricket in 2014, he was handed the Test captaincy. He became the limited-overs captain after Dhoni stepped down from captaincy in early 2016. Currently, Kohli is the second highest batsman in ODI cricket. Kohli married Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma on 11 December 2014 in Italy . Virat and Anushka married very secretly. Nobody was aware of the wedding. Kohli and Anushka were seen together in the shampoo advertisement for the first time after which they have been in a constant relationship. His brother's name is Vikash and an elder sister, Bhavna. Kohli completed his education from Vishal Bharti School. His father Prem Kohli, a lawyer, died in December 2007.
Virat Kohli: Domestic careers
Kohli first played in the 2002-03 Polly Umrigar Trophy for Delhi Under-15 team in October 2002. He was the highest run-scorer for his team in that tournament with an average of 34.60 with a score of 172. He became the captain of the team for the 2003-04 Poly Umrigar Trophy and scored 290 runs in 5 innings at an average of 4, including two centuries and two fifties.
In late 2007, he was selected in the Delhi U-17 team for the 2003–04 Vijay Merchant Trophy. He scored 60 runs in four matches at an average of 117.5, including two centuries and an unbeaten 251 top score. Delhi Under-17 won the 2004-05 Vijay Merchant Trophy in which Kohli was the highest run-scorer with two centuries scoring 854 runs in 6 matches at an average of 4.11.
In February 2006, he made his List A cricket debut for Delhi against Services, but did not get a chance to bat.
In July 2007, Kohli was selected in the Indian Under-19 cricket team on a tour of England . He scored in a three-match ODI series against England Under-19 in the three-match Test series at an average of 105 and 79. The Indian U-19 team won both the series. At the conclusion of the tour, team coach Lal chand Rajput was very impressed with Kohli and said, "Kohli showed strong technical skills against both pace and spin." In February-March 2007, Kohli captained the victorious Indian team to the 2007 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup held in Malaysia . Batting at number 3, he scored 235 runs in 6 matches at an average of 4 and was one of the three highest batsmen in the tournament and three batsmen to score a century in the tournament. Against the West Indies Under-19 team in the group stage (100 runs in 6 balls) was considered as the ESPN Cricinfo "Inning of the Tournament", in which India won by 50 runs and Kohli got the man of the match. Virat Kohli: International cricket career
Early years

International career
In his first match, he scored 12 runs. He scored his first half-century, 58 in the fourth match and helped India win the series. It was India's first ODI series win against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. Kohli, after Yuvraj Singh's injury, played in the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy, and was taken as a reserve ODI batsman since mid-2009. 2011 Cricket World Cup
Kohli was more favored than Raina in the 2011 Cricket World Cup and became the first Indian cricketer to score a century in his World Cup debut match. Test debut

West Indies tour of India in 2011
In November-December 2011, the West Indies toured India for three Tests and five ODIs. After the ODI success (last month) against England, Kohli and Raina were included in the Test team. Kohli was not selected in the team until the final match of the Test series but was selected for the final match. The final match ended in a draw. And India won the Test series 2–0.
India won the ODI series 4–1 and Kohli managed to score 243 runs at an average of 60.75 with a score of 117.
Australia Test Series and CB Series 2012

During the ODI series against the West Indies in 2018, Kohli became the 12th batsman to become the fastest player to score 10,000 ODI runs. He crossed the milestone with 205 innings, 54 innings less than Sachin Tendulkar's next fastest.
In the course, he scored his 37th ODI century. Kohli averages 59.62 after crossing 10,000 runs, which is also the best average among 10,000 club members.
On 27 October, after scoring his 38th ODI century, Kohli became India's first batsman and first tenth to score three successive centuries in ODIs. He scored 453 runs in 5 innings at an average of 151.00 in a 5 match series and was a player of the series.

In March 2013, Kohli started a charity foundation called the Virat Kohli Foundation (VKF). The organization aims to help underprivileged children and organizes events to raise money for charity. The foundation, according to Kohli, works with select non-governmental organizations to "create awareness, receive assistance and raise funds for various causes and for those philanthropic works".
